Vancouver is a great place to visit at anytime, the climate is milder than might be expected and a cosmopolitan atmosphere ensures that there is always plenty to do. Take the ferry to Victoria, which in itself is a great trip, through the Gulf Islands. Victoria is a perfect blend of historic charm and cosmopolitan vitality. The tour then goes north past Nanaimo and heads across the island. The drive from Port Alberni along Highway 4 into the Pacific Rim National Park is spectacular; through Cathedral Grove and onto the coast. With Tofino at the end of the road you have to retrace the route along Highway 4, however, viewing the scenery from the other direction is a new experience. The ferry then returns to the mainland.
